Terms of Service
Draft for legal review (version 2026-10-draft).
These terms are placeholder text and must be replaced by terms prepared by qualified counsel before public launch.
- The service. Tellafter provides tools to prepare will drafts, attach personal files, and send them to recipients you choose if you stop signing in for a period you choose. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
- No guarantee of legal validity. Drafts are not wills until properly executed. We do not determine governing law and do not certify that any document is valid.
- Automatic sending. A final will is sent automatically when the inactivity period you chose ends without a sign-in, after reminder emails to you. Not signing in is not proof of death; you are responsible for choosing a suitable period and keeping your email address current. We do not guarantee that every email is delivered.
- Your responsibilities. Keep your sign-in details and recovery codes safe, keep contact details current, and only upload content you are entitled to store and share.
- Acceptable use. Do not upload unlawful content or malware, or attempt to access other users' data.
- Paid plans. Plans are prepaid for the length shown (for example 1, 2 or 3 years) and paid once by debit or credit card through our payment provider. They do not renew automatically. An upgrade starts at once and the unused part of the current plan is credited; more time on the same plan starts when the current plan ends.
- Free plan and data retention. On the free plan, and from the day a paid plan ends, your wills, files and delivery settings are kept for the free plan's period (6 months unless stated otherwise on the Pricing page) and then permanently deleted, including any will marked final that has not been sent. We email you before deletion. After deletion, the free plan can be used again after one month; a paid plan can be bought at any time. [Operator to state the refund policy.]
- Liability. [To be drafted by counsel.]
- Governing law and disputes. [To be drafted by counsel.]
